Freeport, PA – The Freeport Renaissance Association is hosting its fall festival, September by the River, on Saturday, September 17, from 12-8 PM and Sunday, September 18, from 10 AM-4 PM, in Freeport Riverside Park. This annual fundraising event along the Allegheny River highlights small businesses and nonprofits in the area while providing fun, free entertainment for locals and visitors.
Throughout the two-day event, attendees can enjoy a variety of musical acts, children’s entertainment and activities, food vendors, artisans, and more. A few returning elements to this year’s festival include Freeport Area Library’s Fall Flea Market, yoga with Sol Power Yoga Sarver, kayak demos with The Hook Up, and performances from Lisa Marie’s School of Dance, the Mon Valley Cloggers, Katelyn Hemphill, and Family Tradition Band. New to the event in 2022 is the Bull Run 5K run/walk, magician Ray Lucas, a live performance from Futureproof, and more.
“Over the last few months, we have experienced a revival of volunteerism in the Freeport community,” said Freeport Renaissance Association President Zach Filous. “There are a lot of new and returning faces who have spent their free time organizing this event and other initiatives in the area. With this year’s event, we intend to pay homage to the festival’s past while bringing something new to the table.”
The organization is also bringing back three raffle opportunities — a gift card pack, a lottery ticket board, and the “Wheelbarrow of Cheer” for attendees 21 years of age and older.
“This event has become something that locals and visitors look forward to every year,” said Freeport Renaissance Association Vice President Mary Bowlin. “No matter how you arrive, whether you ride in on a bike, float in on a boat, or just drive in, you won’t want to miss it!”
