The Freeport Renaissance Association is partnering with 1833 Coffee and Tea Co. on a Valentine’s Day project in the community — Handmade Valentines for Seniors!
Valentine’s Day can be a lonely time for senior citizens who are living alone. What better way to brighten their day than with a handmade valentine? Last year, the Freeport community created almost 100 handmade valentines for seniors and distributed them to Quality Life Services (formerly Fair Winds Manor), Concordia Lutheran Ministries, and the Freeport Senior Center. This year, we hope to grow that number and continue to make a positive impact in Freeport!
Stop by the coffee shop on Saturday, February 11 from 7:30 AM-3 PM or Sunday, February 12 from 8 AM-1 PM to create a handmade valentine. All cardmaking supplies will be provided. If you want to make cards at home, there will also be a collection box at the coffee shop. Please drop off any cards on Monday, February 13 by 4 PM so that we can distribute them on Valentine’s Day.
We are also accepting cardmaking supplies — donations can be dropped off at the coffee shop until Friday, February 10 at 4 PM.
Thank you for helping us spread the love in Freeport!
