History truly repeats itself — our free community boat dock pays homage to our town’s roots. Freeport was incorporated and named in 1833 because the river town at the time offered free wharfage for boats to load and unload commodities.
The Freeport Community Boat Dock project was a collaborative effort between the Freeport Renaissance Association and the Freeport Borough to build a free community dock along the Allegheny River at the Freeport Riverside Park. The ADA-accessible dock was completed in 2015 to provide boaters along the Allegheny with a free and safe location to dock and visit historic Freeport.
